Sarah Kramer Named Cattlewoman of the Year

August 12, 2022

Ever since our founding in 1977 in the heart of California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley, Bank of the Sierra has always had a strong connection to the farming and ranching communities of the Central Coast.

That’s why we’re especially proud to announce that our agribusiness lender Sarah Kramer has been named the 2022 Cattlewoman of the Year by the San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen.

Sarah received this major honor at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles on July 21, 2022. SLO County CattleWomen presents this award annually to an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the regional beef industry.

A California native, Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Cal Poly SLO in 2005. The following year, she joined the local banking community, and she soon became actively involved in the agricultural community as well.

Over the last decade, Sarah has taken on multiple leadership roles with the SLO County chapter of California Women for Agriculture, the SLO County Farm Bureau, the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, and many others. She served as president of SLO County CattleWomen in 2017–2018 and currently serves as its bylaws chair.

Sarah takes special pride in teaching youth about the vital role that farmers and ranchers play in our daily lives. She has helped to organize the annual Great AGventure in Paso Robles, where upwards of a thousand grade-schoolers can experience a day of hands-on learning and fun.

Here at Bank of the Sierra, Sarah is a senior vice president and commercial relationship manager based out of our new agricultural loan production office in Templeton. She is a key member of an expanded lending team with decades of industry experience under their belts and a focus on helping California agribusinesses to grow.

Exemplifying Bank of the Sierra’s mission to help make every community we’re part of better, Sarah is passionate about her work to support local farming and ranching both on and off the clock. As she told the SLO County Farm Bureau, “I’ve come to realize that people who are involved are the most fun!”
